Sindy Ray

When Duke and I were filming the TV Christmas Special we had the opportunity to work with Sindy Ray. What a natural talent. She added star quality that’s like a four-pointer pass putting it right under the post.
Sindy Ray’s Christmas Special bit on YouTube has mega hits.

She’s a star.
Anyway, every few months in the newspapers they print out a list of the top movies and how much they earn at the box-office.
The arty Aussie films are always way down, if they even get on the list.
That’s sad.
It’s sad because there’s always a shitload of money from the box-office – so people in Australia do actually go to the movies.
If you paint rocks that you think talk, you will invariable only sell your art to other people who think rocks talk. Last count? That was about 7.
If you painted flowers on breasts, you would sell millions.
Well, I’d buy one.
Now, I know without arts funding many worthwhile films would never get made. But the sad thing is – in Australia we can’t even knock-up a movie that makes a shit-load of money. Not often, anyway.
Let me put it another way- no-one questions whether or not The Democrats in federal politics have a right to exist, but no-one votes for them. Not after Meg Lees anyway.
Kenny made 7 million at the box-office.
Suburban Mayhem made $370,000.
In film-making you need to know your target market.
We knows ours, we found Sindy Ray.
Until next time and happy film-making.
