Xaviera's getting married
If there was one book that changed my life, it’s The Happy Hooker. It’s the first book I read.
I think it sort of showed me there was this real world – and the world I wanted to live in.
Sort of like a goods train being past by the good-time express.
No one wears underwear on the good-time express.
Anyway, I know I say you should never meet your heroes, but I did contact Xaviera Hollander. And I’m glad I did. She’s super-cool.
And she’s getting married. To a guy called Phillip – go love.
I asked her once for a quote, to add to a project I was working on. She sent me this:

How cool is that?
Anyway, over the years I’ve been documenting all the beers I’ve tasted.

I’m fond of wheat beer. It sends the message that often beer drinking can be a cerebral adventure.
This beer is tasty, nicely cloudy and the 500ml bottle is just the right size for any occasion.
I wouldn’t drink this all night – but it’s a great starter on a first date.
