Life is short, life is dull, life is full of pain

Isn’t ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ the most beautiful and profound movie you have ever seen, dear readers?
Doesn’t it inspire you to listen to Spanish guitar music? Doesn’t it want to make you wear floaty dresses and blouses; wear your hair in a tousled mess?
Doesn’t it call to you to drink wine all day, philosophise and take up smoking again, after 7 years of abstinence?
Doesn’t it inspire you to learn Spanish, or any other language that sounds pretty?
Does it not make you want to take photos, paint, write?
Doesn’t it inspire you to love freely and often? And I am not talking about the seedy snog and fumble after a drunken office Christmas-party, I’m talking about passion in the park after walking around hand in hand, admiring architecture.
Do you not think, that, after watching it, ‘bohemian’ is your favourite word of all time?
Does it not make you want to grab life by the horns and go live?
Yet, at the same time, does it not invite you to put on your headphones and listen to your favourite album (at Fish on Film this is currently Lana del Rey’s ‘Born to Die’) over and over again, daydreaming the time away? Time you should probably have spent washing the dishes, taking the rubbish out and renewing your car insurance.
Does it not take you out of your dreary 9-5 reality for a delicious few minutes?
No?
Oh.
Go watch something else then.
