First date beer

I see that Young Einstein is the tenth biggest grossing Aussie film of all time ($13 Mil). I remember an American review of our film, The Killbillies started off like this;
I thought Young Einstein was the worst Australian film ever made before I saw this…
Beer Taste Test 374
Reschs Dinner Ale 4.4%
7.5/10
This is a great first date beer. It only comes in longnecks and if you ever have to meet the parents, have three of these in tow. Any father of your intended will appreciate this fine beer. If not, then you’ve identified the idiot in the gene pool. This subtle brew sets you up for a night to remember.
It’s never failed me.
Which beings me to the movie, The FJ Holden.
I love this movie. If we ever needed a citizenship test, prospective Australians should be shown this.
Set round Bankstown Square in 1977 it’s everything Australian culture really is rather than what the cry-babies think it should be.
Cars, struggle, beer, working, mateship and did I mention struggle – it’s more than a street, it’s a way of life.
I remember watching this film on SBS with an intro by Des Mangan which said more about him than the movie.
What a twat.
He slagged it off and boo-hoo he struggled with the relevance.
I had no problem.
Until next time and happy film-making.
