Big Baz and Product Placement
June 10th 2007 23:18
Big Baz’s film, Australia is allegedly soaking up money faster than a wombat in a barrel of beer. But fear not. I have once more pooled the resources of the Fish Media Empire and come up with a solution. I’ve put them into fund-raising mode.
Legend film-maker Ted V. Mikels used to sell associate producer credits on his films for $1500. Why not go a step further. Along with product placement you could throw in guest acting roles for say, $50,000.
So someone who lives in Balmain but is not involved directly in the film industry (a minority) and feels left out during café swarrees - could buy their way into the conversation. Perfect.
Here’s the scene.
Kidman is lounging (outfit designed by?) in a banana-like chair (furniture by?) on top of the water tank (have you got one yet?) sunning herself (don’t forget your sunscreen). Her brother/sister (paid guest spot) is adding the finishing touches to a horse cart he/she’s been working on all day.
Kidman: When are you goin’ to be finished with all that bangin’? I’m tryin’ to get a tan.
Brother/sister: I done finished right now, take a look.
Kidman turns ever so slightly. There is cleavage.
Kidman: Why I reckon you just cut the back-end off Pa’s best wagon.
Brother/sister: That’s right Sis. It’s my new invention. I’m goin’ to call it, The Ute. And to my way of reckonin’ it’s holden together pretty fine. In fact, that’s what I should call it; The Holden Ute.
Beautiful.
Until next time and happy film-making.
